DESCRIPTION:

The warriors, the Spartans! This helps children envisage what life was really like growing up as a Spartan. For us, as we have been studying Ancient Greece this past couple of weeks which included comparing the lives of children in both Sparta and Athens, this book was a great visual aid. Boys in Sparta were raised to be warriors. They never truly belonged to thei. "Extremely cool!" according to Wendy Anderson. I bought this for my son who is an aspiring artist. The quality of the illustrations is really nice and he even likes the story line which is rare for him. Very nice.. Beautifully illustrated book R. Richardson I was surprised how nice these books are considering the reasonable pricing. The illustrations are beautiful and the colors vivid. I won't know until I present them as gifts how their intended audience receives them, but I would think they will be well received.
