She has laid out a very good plan and explains how it will work, and why it does. Every parent would benefit from using this book as a basis for teaching values to young children, even if they chose to change the "theme" of the book, as Bishop uses her granddaughter's interest in Egypt, which is very unusual. But the basis of this book could be shaped around any interest that a child might have, and it would work well. I think this was well done and has merit.. "Cute, Adorable, and Teachable" according to Lizabeth Jenkins-Dale. What a great book describing a child's development and planning for her future. This book shows parental involvement as well as a grandmother's love for her granddaughter. A book to entertain, but also to use for young girls in the development and planning for their futures, too!. Teachable Moments! Lori Gertz This wonderful book not only tells a story most children can relate to but it promotes and models behaviors all of us would like our children to embrace. Aside from chores and allowance, teaching children the value of money and how its energy can work in their lives is a hands on, cause and effect sort of thing. Usually consequences result from not having planned rather than the alternative. While life is always full of the unexpected, as this book so aptly describes, it's always nice to have a sarcophagus filled with savings to accomplish our goals and this cute story relays that message perfectly.
