Valerie Vierk said A great read about cougars from the early years. I love books written years ago when people were still alive who knew firsthand about subjects. This book has this. The author quotes and takes accounts from the early cougar hunters. Some things haven't changed: the fear these cats inspire in many people. Mr. Shoemaker's poem about the mounted lion in a musty museum is haunting, poignant and beautiful. I just can't quit going back to read it. I highly recommend this book. Booklet jill I wanted to read about the Pennsylvania mountain lion and this was excellent information but limited. I don't recommend paying $12 for this booklet.. Kay Brady said panthers. My husband really enjoyed this book. He's a hunter/fisherman kind of guy and says it's a good read!
