Homeschool and love the MCP Plaid Phonics Series Started using this program through a" public" homeschool curriculum and really enjoy it. It is engaging and varied and has variety of illustrations/drawings to liven it up - so the pages are not boring. While it's focus is on the rules of pronunciation/phonics it does have areas of reading as well as writing assignments (though not heavy). We use Great Source's (Write One, Write Away, Writers Express, etc) for working on the writing end of things and they compliment each other very well. The Teachers Resource Guide for each.
