Martini's latest is an absolute continuation of "Rule Of Nine", itself a continuation of sorts of "Guardian Of Lies". Despite being billed as the 12th in the Defense Attorney Paul Madriani series, probably Martini's most popular stories, like "Rule", "Trader" isn't a legal thriller at all. Rather, the same characters as in "Rule" are still chasing the Mexican villain Liquida all over the world, from Thailand to Paris to Mexico, following miniscule clues, in an effort to keep daughter Sarah, cooped up in a safe house, from harm. The protagoni. Get back to lawyering Martini needs to return Paul Madriani to the courtroom. I expect that's what most of his readers want and enjoy. Why he, along with other authors who've veered off the rails, feel a need to "stretch out" into international cloak-and-dagger yarns is beyond me. I won't go into the plot except to say that IMHO it was ludicrous, this week's "End of the World" nonsense. There are many other writers who specialize in spy intrigue, and do it much better, and they are the ones I turn to if I'm wanting that genre. If Martini's next effort doesn't hav. The recent span of Paul Madriani, super action hero have been horrible. I am not going to waste anymore of my hard earned money on this tripe. Don't waste yours either.
