perljam said Good read, and interesting insights into both Carli and the USWNT. I enjoyed this book, actually more than I had anticipated. I read a lot of autobiographies but tend to find those written by sports figures to be a bit unidimensional and an irritating combination of self-obsession and self-unawareness. These were not issues with Carli's book. Carli has a forthright and direct writing style, which seems to be representative of her no-nonsense, candid personality. She is engaging in her storytelling - it would be easy for tales of annual sports cycles and training regimens to get tedious quickly, but Carli does a good job of bringing the reader along her progr. Her family struggles might have shaped her early determination but her honesty in sharing her story with us now comes from her own heart. Thank goodness she found Brian who shares joy and happiness with her.
