Even the sex scenes were boring. Amazon Customer First, a disclaimer: I have read all of Stephanie Laurens' books and enjoyed almost all of them. If I had to rate the books, this one would be at the bottom of my recommendation list. It moves very slowly. The plot is thin. The heroine is minimally interesting and the hero is one-dimensional. It was boring to read over and over again how the female lead wanted to steer their marriage. It was like reading a teenager's diary entry listing a recipe for an ideal (if easily manipulated) husband. Yawn. Even the sex scenes were boring. I hope the rest of the bo. What happened to the author I loved to read? This is definitely not one of Laurens' best. The plot was contrived and boring. Far too much time spent on MCs ruminating on the state of the relationship and justifying their actions. Other than the trademark Laurens lush prose for the sex scenes, I wouldn't have thought this was the same author that wrote the early Cynster novels..
